GENERATOR and the Desert Fuzz store Desert Fuzz LLC — effective [date].
This page is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by counsel. It is published for reference while the review is under way.
1. Who we are
Desert Fuzz LLC, Nevada, USA, makes GENERATOR and runs the store at desertfuzz.com. Contact: [privacy@desertfuzz.com], [registered address].
2. The plugin sends nothing while you play
GENERATOR and GENERATOR FREE do not collect usage data, do not track what you do with them and do not contact any server during use. The paid edition checks its license key on your computer, offline, and stores an activation file there; that file leaves your machine only if you send it to us for support.
3. The optional update check
If you turn on “check for updates” in the settings (it is off by default), the software asks our server for the latest version once per day at most. That request carries the software’s version and your platform (operating system and architecture) and nothing else. Our server keeps ordinary web-server logs (IP address, time, the request) for [14] days for security and then deletes them. Turn the setting off and no request is made.
4. Buying from the store
When you buy from the store:
-
Stripe handles payment. We never see or store your card number. Stripe’s own notice applies to the payment: [link]. Stripe tells us the order amount, your email address, the country of the card [and the billing address/tax details Stripe Tax needs].
-
We keep an order record (Stripe session id, email, product, amount, date) and a license record (your key, the product and tier, your email, the number of machines, the order it belongs to, and the date it was revoked if it ever is). We keep these for as long as your license exists and for [7] years afterwards for tax and accounting law.
-
We send you transactional email (the key, download links, receipts, refund confirmations) through [Amazon SES]. These are not marketing.
-
Download links are signed and expire after [7] days; the download server logs the request like any web server (section 3).
-
If you create an account to see your keys and downloads, we store your email and a hashed password [or a magic-link token], your licenses and your downloads; you can delete the account from the account page or by writing to us.
5. GENERATOR FREE
Downloading FREE needs no account and no email. If you choose to give us your email on the FREE page to hear about the suite, we store it for that purpose only until you unsubscribe (every message has an unsubscribe link) and we do not add it to the store records.
6. Beta and support
If you write to support or join a beta, we keep the correspondence and any files you send (logs, activation files, session files) for as long as needed to help you and then for [1] year.
7. Legal bases (EU/UK visitors)
Contract (the purchase, the license, the account), legitimate interests (security logs, fraud prevention, the update check you turned on), consent (the FREE mailing list), legal obligation (tax records).
8. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it (subject to the tax retention in section 4), or object to a use; write to [privacy@desertfuzz.com]. EU/UK residents may complain to their supervisory authority; California residents have the rights in the CCPA and we do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
9. Children
The store and the software are not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
We will post changes here with a new effective date and, for material changes, email account holders.
